Holding Up the Sky

This is a song honoring the dwarves of Norse mythology. The dwarves are not nice or pretty, but they are expertly skilled craftsmen . They make magical weapons and jewelry of the precious metals and stones that they fiercely guard. They live deep within the Earth, and are also guardians of the four directions: North South East and West. When you listen to this song, hear them singing proudly as they stand at the four directions with their steady feet protecting the Earth, and their strong arms holding up the sky.
Lyrics

North South East and West
We're little men but we do our best
Holding Up the Sky

Clamped between Heaven and Hell
We hate our job but we do it well
Holding Up the Sky

in the dark where rubies ripen
and emeralds burst from the ancient seed
we stand upon our dusty treasures
and guard them from the hands of lust and greed....

East West North and South
See the stars fall from our mouth
Holding Up the Sky
